Terms of service

Last updated: 14 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Food Resilience School NZ at https://foodresilience.school.nz, operated by Vector Group Charitable Trust (CC45966). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms and our Privacy policy.

About the service

Food Resilience School NZ provides free community learning for kai resilience — courses, workshops, grower tool links, and optional community spaces (official school pathways and independent creator communities). Content is educational and community-oriented, not commercial or professional advice.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access via Contact.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these terms or harm other learners or staff.
  • Join and Sign in are required for protected areas such as lesson players, the feed, and community tools.

Educational content — not professional advice

Course and workshop material is for general education about growing, food resilience, and community kai systems. It is not a substitute for agronomy, legal, financial, or health advice. Apply techniques thoughtfully on your own land and consult qualified professionals when needed. Growing and food handling carry real risks — you are responsible for your own safety and compliance with local rules.

Your content

When you post in the feed, comments, profile fields, or submit feedback, contact messages, or creator applications, you retain ownership of your content. You grant Vector Group Charitable Trust a non-exclusive licence to display, store, and share that content within the platform and connected programme reporting, so communities and staff can run the service. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.

Approved creator profiles may show organisation and links you provide in your application. Expertise and unpublished course drafts remain for admin review only — see our Privacy policy.

Community guidelines

  • Be respectful — learners include schools, households, and community groups.
  • No harassment, hate speech, spam, or misleading claims about food or safety.
  • Do not upload malware or attempt to disrupt the platform.
  • Respect privacy — do not share others' personal details without consent.

We may remove content or restrict access that breaches these guidelines. Report site issues via Feedback; programme enquiries via Contact.

Creators and workshops

Independent providers may apply via the creator programme. Approval is at our discretion. Creators may draft courses and propose workshops; Vector Group Charitable Trust staff review and publish — creators cannot push listings to external network sites themselves. Published workshops may appear on https://foodresilience.school.nz/events and, where approved, on partner directories such as Kai Resilience.

Our content

Course text, videos, SCORM packages, branding, and site design are owned by Vector Group Charitable Trust or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may use materials for personal learning but may not republish, sell, or scrape bulk content without written permission.

Third-party tools and links

The site links to Troppo grower tools, RegenOS, Kai Resilience, and other network sites. Embedded players (e.g. SCORM, Mindsmith) may load third-party scripts. We are not responsible for external sites' content or practices — review their terms separately.

Availability

We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or outages may occur. Course content may be updated, archived, or replaced as programmes evolve.

Liability

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Vector Group Charitable Trust is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform or reliance on educational content. Nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot lawfully exclude.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or discontinue features. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. You may stop using the service and request account deletion via Contact. We may terminate access for breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes should first be raised with us through the contact page.
